NEW YORK VACATION –



John David Combs and his wife, Melody, and eight-year-old son, Ethan, of Lexington, enjoyed a spring break vacation to New York. Ethan enjoyed learning about the history of New York City and seeing “Grease” on Broadway and meeting the cast. Ethan is the grandson of Danny and Joyce Baker of Thornton, and Johnny Combs of Isom.

YMCA in London closes



LONDON, Ky. Officials of the YMCA in London have shut down most programs, saying they can’t afford to continue them. Director Don Burgin said the London-Laurel County “Y” struggled with $6,000 monthly utility bills and its budget was further stretched by an increase in the minimum wage.
