LITTLE ANGLER



Kevin Johnson caught his first smallmouth bass on September 8 in the North Fork of the Kentucky River in Whitesburg. The fish was 18 inches long and weighed three pounds.

Driving course is set for October 21



The AARP Safe Driving Course will be offered from noon to 4 p.m., October 21, at the Letcher County Extension Office. The class will be taught by Sherill Slone and is sponsored by the Letcher County Retired Teachers. For more information, call Joyce Whitaker at 633-3449.

Officials say an error was made when the name of a 53-year-old Mayking man was included in a list of persons charged in 10 felony indictments unsealed here in August.
