Letcher County Central High School senior Matt Baker is in Bowling Green this week competing in the KHSAA Boys’ State Golf Tournament. Baker advanced to Bowling Green by winning the 10th Region Golf Championship with a score of 72 on the Paintsville Golf Course last week. Letcher Central’s golf team is coached by Brett Richards.

The LKLP Community Action Council, a nonprofit that serves Leslie, Knott, Letcher and Perry counties, will receive $60,000 from the federal government as part of a program to make repairs and improvements to rural housing.
