Art classes being offered

Hazard Community and Technical College will begin an initial surface and underground mining class on Feb. 28. Class will run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Technical Campus, Industrial Ed Building from 6 to 10 p.m. The instructor is Vance Arnold. Pre-registration is required. Fickey receives award at UK

Letcher County native Amanda Fickey is a candidate for a doctorate in the Department of Geography in thate College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Kentucky. Seniors enjoyed Valentine’s Day

Oh, what a great time the Ermine seniors citizens (we’re recycled teenagers) had Monday, Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day. Our center was closed because of the water, but Jim Ward let us have our party and potluck dinner. We had a king and queen; Everett Joseph was crowned king, and Coletta Tolliver was crowed queen. On February 16, Hospice of participated in Hospice Legislative Day at the State Capitol in Frankfort.
