Shooting match

A shooting match will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 14, at the American Legion. Straight guns only, no barrels over 36 inches, no scopes, no peep sites. All guns will be checked before each match. Christmas cantata planned

“The First Noel”, a Christmas cantata, will be presented by the Neon First Church of God choir under the direction of Susan Smith Vanover at 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 20, and 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 21. Pastor Mark Wagoner and the congregation welcome everyone.

Doyath Lee Day, 81, died December at his home in Nancy. Born in Letcher County, he was the son of the late David and Mattie Ingram Day and a brother of the late Dauphus Day.
