Jenkins band students will tour Europe

Three students from the Jenkins Cavalier Wind Band, directed by Jenny L. Collins, were selected from students across the state to perform in the 2020 Kentucky Ambassadors of Music European Tour. The students have the opportunity to take part in a seven country European tour during the summer of 2020.

Whitesburg ARH will soon become ‘teaching hosptal’


Beginning in July, Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital will officially be a teaching hospital. Appalachian Regional Healthcare received notification Tuesday afternoon that the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education has approved the Whitesburg and Harlan hospitals to teach residents in internal medicine. The Letcher County Ministers Fellowship will host Holy Week services at Whitesburg United Methodist Church from 12 to 12:30 p.m., April 14-19, preceding Easter Sunday. The services will include a variety of persons and churches and will be representative of the Letcher County community.
